Most people may already know the answers to these questions, but since A/I doesn't have ATC, I was wondering how people pass ATC. Are candidates evaluated on how well they defend their ATC show? Of the three ATCs I went to, it seemed candidates had to explain their artistic choices a lot. Although sometimes, other faculty seemed to respond for the student when his or her work was challenged.
Do all faculty vote on who passes or not, or just the committee members? Is the decision based on only the ATC show and questioning, or does the candidate's past work play a part?
I enjoyed the dialog at the atc presentations, and was surprised at how heated many of the comments seemed. It seems the professors take student work much more seriously and are more personally involved than I had previously thought, or there is quite a bit of infighting going on behind the scenes.
